Landscape Experiments, 2009

We consider the natural world in mostly abstract terms, whether through deliberate quantitative reduction or the conceptual framing of visual and linguistic media.  In these experiments, I’m working to define a physical vocabulary that describes the natural landscape at different levels of abstraction.  The components of this vocabulary variously take the form of jointed wooden constructions, shells formed by gravity, and castings made in the ground.
